POLYCYSTIC OVARIAN SYNDROME (PCOS)

Polycystic ovarian syndrome affects 5-10% of all women of reproductive age. Most research implicates the cause of PCOS due to excess levels of insulin or insulin resistance.

40-80% of women with PCOS struggle with infertility due to lack of ovulations. PCOS also puts women at risk for cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, metabolic syndrome, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, elevated cholesterol, and cancer.
